This egg is not in the main research facility, but in the precursor cache located elsewhere in the Lost River. To make sure that you know the difference, here are screenshots of what the Dunes Impact Crater looks like.Ībove: Image of the Dunes Meteor Impact Crater (this is not the location of the egg.)īelow: Image of the meteor at the center of the crater ( still not the egg location.) I’m going to repeat this many times: The Dunes Impact Crater is Not The Location of the Egg. The egg’s location is between the two large vents pictured above. There are two large vents surrounded by several small vents. These two photos below are the Dunes Sinkhole, the actual location of the egg.Ībove: Image of the Dunes Sinkhole, with two visibly distinct large thermal vents.īelow: Image of the vents inside the Dunes Sinkhole. To make sure you know the difference, here are screenshots (sorry for bad quality) of the Dunes Sinkhole. The egg can be found next to the glowing plant between the two large thermal vents. The Dunes Sinkhole is very close to a reaper leviathan, and it has two large thermal vents inside it, surrounded by several small vents. Lots of people think that the Dunes Sinkhole is the same as the Dunes Crater. The egg location is the dunes sinkhole, NOT the dunes impact crater. This one is a bit tricky. I can assure you that the egg is still there in full release, it’s just really hard to find screenshots. This is also where you’ll find the Orange Tablet, which you will need to access the location of egg 3 in the Lost River.įootnote: I know that in the above screenshot it says it’s from early access 2017. One cuddle fish egg can be found in the Degasi Base in the Deep Grand Reef. If you keep going west from there, you will find an entrance to a deeper biome.Spoiler alert for how to access a precursor cache facility in the Lost River. You can find Nickel in the blue, harmless brine. It'll be in the brine, which is why I recommend a Prawn, which can survive in the green brine. North of the Junction is a good place for Crystaline Sulfur. Once you're there, I'd recommend heading east (unless you already cam from there) to an alien facility there and explore. This is the Junction, where you can get to the rest of the LR. If you find an alien facility, explore it.įollow through the LR until you find your way to an area with a skeleton with an arm. When you're in the Lost River, if you hear a shriek or see a giant snake, go to silent running and don't turn it off until you're past them. You should see a green liquid on the ground. Once you see the end, start descending downward. Follow just inside the trench until you find the end (there is an area where the trench seems to end, but starts again right on the other side). You can find this entrance by heading southwest of lifepod 17 until you find a large slot in the ground. This area is a rather tight fit for the Cyclops. The last entrance is in the Blood Kelp Trench. If you can brave the dangers, this area is pretty wide and open. I don't recommend this entrance because the surrounding biome is very dangerous, filled with very dangerous creatures and even a massive Ghost Leviathan not far west of the entrance. There is another entrance just southwest of lifepod 2. You should see a cave entrance, leading to a cave that looks like the biome just outside it, but a brighter light blue tint in the water. If you haven't been there yet, just go beneath the Floating Island and head slightly to the east. There is an entrance north of the 500m Degasi Seabase. I like the Mountains/Bulb Zone entrance because it's safe for the Cyclops, (which I highly recommend for trips to the LR and deeper, as it is basically a mobile base which you can put growbeds and storage in, as well as docking a Prawn Suit or a Seamoth.) You can find this entrance directly north if lifepod 12, if you have the signal. To (almost) fully explore the Lost River, you need a MK3 seamith depth module, a MK1 Cyclops depth module.
